Adopt a College Student
SBBC will be kicking off our new “Adopt-a-College-Student” program this year! Adopt-A-Student is all about helping our college students feel a part of the family at SBBC and also to encourage them as they are in college and (usually) away from their homes. Our heart and vision for this ministry is to live intentionally alongside our college students and meet a true need in their lives…family and support!

College student adoption could look like inviting a student over for Sunday dinner, taking them to the grocery store, sending them a care basket during finals, taking them out to ice cream or having them over for the holidays.
College student adoption could look like:
This is a low-pressure relationship that is all about serving college students and helping to provide a home away from home.
Interested in blessing a local college student who is part of our church family? A place for them to have a home-cooked meal, gain godly advice and wisdom, a family atmosphere and possibly the use of a washer and dryer? Consider adopting a college student (or two...maybe even three) at SBBC.

College student adoption could look like:
- Praying for your student weekly by name
- Sending encouraging text messages every couple of weeks
- Inviting a student over for Sunday dinner
- Taking them to the grocery store
- Sending them a care basket during finals
- Taking them out to ice cream
- Giving them a quiet place to study
- Being the one to initiate. Many students do not know how to take the first step.
- Having them over for a holiday if they are not able to return home, and much more!

They are excited to get to know you. Be honest about what you need and your availability. You aren’t a project—you are a person. Let a host family walk alongside you.
